According to the latest reports, Manchester United have found the next David Beckham and Wayne Rooney at Old Trafford and it could have huge ramifications.

At Old Trafford there are names who will forever be synonymous with Manchester United. David Beckham and Wayne Rooney are certainly both in that category.

The former was a youth product who progressed through the ranks at the club’s illustrious academy and the latter arrived as a mere 18 year old before becoming the Red Devils’ all time record goalscorer.

While the pair of them never played together in United colours, they each belonged to a crucial period in the club’s history.

David Beckham was pivotal for Sir Alex Ferguson during the late 90s and early 00s and helped the club to a famous Champions League victory.

Meanwhile, Rooney was instrumental in United’s third Champions League trophy and numerous Premier League titles as well as in keeping the club’s fighting spirit during the turbulent era following Ferguson’s sudden departure.

They played in different positions, but they often helped to win games for United single-handedly.

Both Beckham and Rooney had the ability to win games out of thin air. They had it in their locker to produce a stunning strike or deliver the perfect cross in the dying embers of the game.

Some of their most iconic goals will remain indelible to many fans who were fortunate enough to watch them on their television screens or from the stands at Old Trafford.

However, with the pair of them both having surpassed their peak and departed Old Trafford, a new star has emerged at United.

Just like Rooney and Beckham, Marcus Rashford started out young with the Red Devils. Just like the pair of them, Rashford has now established himself as the linchpin of the side, but it seems he could offer the same headache for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the two United legends gave Sir Alex Ferguson.

A report by the Daily Express has cited a recent comment by Marcus Rashford in which he admitted he would have been prepared to make a ‘major risk’ by declaring himself fit for England in order to be able to compete at the 2020 European Championships. That would have made the Red Devils unhappy.

But such a move by a key player is not unfamiliar to the Red Devils faithful, the Daily Express claims that both Rooney and Beckham caused similar ‘anguish’ during their spells at Old Trafford.
