According to the latest reports, Harry Kane has been urged to make an important decision about Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was once a prolific goalscorer at Manchester United. The Norwegian was deadly in front of goal. He could be relied on to score whenever he pleased. Even if he came on as a substitute, Solskjaer’s innate sense and hunger for a goal made him a machine.

Now as a manager, the Norwegian is forced to stand idly on the touchline unable to provide the attacking threat he so often did for Sir Alex Ferguson during the club’s heyday.

Ironically, Solskjaer lacks someone of his ilk in his current Red Devils squad. The former cult hero is criminally short of attacking options and it is something he is desperate to change as he looks to return the Red Devils back to the pinnacle of English football.

Harry Kane who’s future has been cast into doubt over the last few months could be an impeccable option.

The Tottenham and England captain is one of the best forwards in the world. He is a goal-machine much like Solskjaer was.

Kane can score goals for fun and he could eventually break Alan Shearer‘s long standing Premier League record.

With 32 goals in 45 England appearances, he is one of the deadliest forwards the country has ever had and is one of the few English players to have earned himself a top goalscorer award at the World Cup.

But with Tottenham unable to win Kane the trophies he desires and the London based club unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season it seems more and more likely that Harry Kane is itching to leave the club.

And Tim Sherwood a former Tottenham player who has previously coached Harry Kane has urged him to make a surprising decision by choosing to stay at Tottenham.

Sherwood told the Daily Mail via the Daily Express that just like Alan Shearer, Harry Kane should resist the temptation of Manchester United and stick it out at Tottenham.

Alan Shearer purportedly rejected the Red Devils’ approach whilst at Blackburn and he would end up lifting the Premier League title with the Rovers.

This is what Tim Sherwood said in full:

"“It’s like Alan Shearer. He finishes fourth with Blackburn [in 1992-93], then second [the following season]. Manchester United are all over him. But he decides to stay, because he believes we have the quality to win it, and we did the next season. Harry needs to assess this himself.”"

Of course the decision could be a huge gamble for Harry Kane, and with United looking in a much better state than Tottenham, the English international might ignore Sherwood’s advice.
