According to the latest reports, this is when and how Manchester United will return to action and it might not be as far away as we first thought.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not been sitting at home idly. Just like the rest of the footballing world, he will be itching to get back to Old Trafford and Carrington. Manchester United looked back to their best prior to the suspension of the football finally playing exciting attacking football and the Norwegian will be hoping to continue the momentum.

Of course, it is vital that the football returns safely and accordingly, in line with the regulations in order to ensure the safety of everyone involved. In the current climate, a huge host of preparations have to be made before that can be achieved.

At times like this football falls by the wayside, however with the country embroiled in a crisis if there is a way football can return, it can lift the spirits of many who find the sport their source of relief and escape.

And it seems according to a report by the Daily Mail that United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could soon return to action.

The English news outlet claims that the Red Devils are planning to start training at their base in Carrington on May 18th according to the latest reports with the club making extensive plans to ensure the safety of the staff and players.

The strict regulations will include the players washing their kits at home due to new hygiene measures as well as showering at home and driving to training by themselves.

Players will also work in ‘small groups’ on a possible ‘rota basis’ in order to ensure they continue to socially distance themselves.

It will not be return to normal and it will take some time for the players to adjust, but with many of the United players itching to get back on the field it will be welcome news for the squad.

Of course when the Premier League will returns is still moot. Much will hinge on the measures the government will introduce and the extent they will be willing to lax the current restrictions.

According to the Daily Mail, United have also informed their players who are in quarantine abroad to return to the country by May 4th so they can isolate themselves for two weeks in accordance with the current government guidelines.

The news will be a welcome one for the fans, and United being back in action could at least return a small vestige of normality in an otherwise completely transfixed world.
