According to the latest reports, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer may have signed his very own Kylian Mbappe at Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.

Almost a year ago, in Paris Kylian Mbappe and Manchester United came face to face in the Champions League. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer eyed the French teenager from the touchline as Mbappe seemed to end the Red Devils’ hopes of advancing to the next stage of the tournament with a squared ball to Juan Bernat.

Solskjaer grimaced and sighed. Little did he know that he was about to embark on an emotional roller coaster.

In the end, ultimately it was the Norwegian who would end the night with a beaming smile and his fists in the air.

Mbappe on the other hand would collapse on the grass and bury his head in his hands.

In all fairness, the French phenom had hardly put a foot wrong during the two games between the two giants.

Kylian Mbappe had netted a lethal finish in the first game, accelerating past United’s defence to slot the ball into the back of the net past David de Gea.

An assist in the second leg too. The Frenchman perpetually pestered the United defence. His potent pace and powerful stride made him a constant nuisance.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must have been impressed by the sight.

And whilst Kylian Mbappe’s services are almost impossible to lure to Old Trafford, the Norwegian must have thought to himself he would like to have his very own ‘Mbappe.’

Now according to a report by the Daily Express Solskjaer could have bought the next Mbappe just a few months after that iconic night in Paris.

The English outlet claims that United believe the club’s young French star Hannibal Mejbri could have the potential to ’emulate’ Kylian Mbappe in the future. Hannibal Mejbri is ‘generational talent’ according to the report.

In all fairness, the the 17 year old has been extremely impressive since his arrival at Carrington.

Mejbri makes the game look simple and he can glide past players with ease. His technical ability is head and shoulders above the rest.

Of course, Hannibal Mejbri plays in a more central position at the heart of the midfield so comparisons with Mbappe might be far fetched.

But in terms of making a similar impact to the French star and fellow compatriot, Mejbri certainly has the potential.

It is only a matter of time, until Hannibal Mejbri gets his chance in the first team and United fans will see just what an exciting prospect he is.

Next. Solskjaer could be about to make the same move as Alex Fergson. dark
