Manchester United: Ed Woodward to buy world-class star for bargain price
By Bence Bocsak
According to the latest reports, Manchester United chief Ed Woodward could be about to sign this world class midfielder for a huge bargain in the summer.
It’s a challenging time for football. And of course the rest of the world. Life as we know it has temporarily ceased. Manchester United are fortunately well positioned to deal with the current crisis. However that does not mean that the club’s chief Ed Woodward has not been working tirelessly in order to cope with the huge challenges facing the sport.
Amidst the crisis, Woodward is also faced with the task of helping to build Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a squad that is capable of returning back to the pinnacle of the English game.
Ed Woodward has not been the most welcome figure at Old Trafford. The club’s transfer policy has raised many eyebrows over the past few seasons and often Woodward has been named as the culprit.

Transfers have often concluded hastily with players offered steep wages in the past. Meanwhile often United missed out on key targets.
Even in January, Ed Woodward was made to sweat when the club were embroiled in a tough and long negotiation with Sporting Lisbon over Bruno Fernandes.
In the end Woodward was able to loosen his tie and wrap the deal up for the Portuguese star and he will be hoping that is a sign of what is to come.
Woodward has spoken about how United are well positioned to deal with the situation at the moment.
And it will surely mean, the Red Devils will be able to support Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the transfer market.
An area that the Norwegian desperately lacks depth in is the middle of the park. United’s midfield is full of stars who are not good enough to represent the team or who are past their prime.
Saul Niguez has been touted around as a midfielder who could fix those problems at Old Trafford.
The Atletico Madrid midfielder is a world-class talent who would be well suited to the hustle and bustle of the Premier League and his energy could spark life into the Red Devils’ midfield.
And according to Spanish outlet AS via the Daily Express as a consequence of the suspension of the football, Atletico Madrid might be forced to sell Saul Niguez well below their valuation of £120 million.
Instead the report claims, Atletico will be willing to accept a low figure as £66 million for Saul Niguez.
That would be a huge bargain purchase by Ed Woodward and it could be his biggest coup at Old Trafford since he took charge at United.
Do you think Saul Niguez would be a good signing for the Red Devils?
