According to the latest reports, Manchester United have made a surprising decision about this purportedly key transfer target ahead of the summer window.

Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Matt Busby were all masters when it came to understanding the game of football. From knowing the details about how the industry worked to identifying and scouting the right players, as well as deploying the perfect tactics. Manchester United were blessed to have them.

The pair’s genius is what made the sides they built at Old Trafford so dominant.

They set up dynasties at United. Teams who will be remembered for centuries ahead and their contributions to the club will remain indelible forever.

Both Ferguson and Busby understood the importance of the transfer market. The importance of finding the right players. Candidates who would be perfectly suited to what they wanted to achieve.

They were pioneers.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was one of Ferguson’s biggest bargain buys. The Norwegian ended up becoming a huge player for the club despite signing for United as a relatively unknown player on the cheap from Norway.

Solskjaer ingrained his name into history when he scored the famous winner against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

The Norwegian could always be relied on to score goals and to help the team to victory.

And Ferguson’s signing could have even bigger and better ramifications.

Solskjaer has now aspired to emulate his former coach. The Norwegian manager is in charge of the Red Devils and he has looked to learn from the club’s former greats when it comes to his recruitment system.

Solskjaer’s purchases have all been relatively successful. Some of the players the Norwegian has brought to the club look to be important foundations and the spine of the year in the years ahead.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to have the same innate sense for what the Red Devils need. Slowly trust is starting to build at Old Trafford and after some appalling purchases over the years by Ed Woodward and co, the United board looked to have redeemed themselves with the help of Solskjaer.

Declan Rice has been a name who has been linked with United for over a year. However while the England international seems like a huge prospect, it seems that according to Manchester Evening News United will not be making a move for the West Ham midfielder.

It’s a bold move by Solskjaer considering his current midfield prospects are yet to prove themselves, but one that could put him on the same level as his predecessors if he gets it right.

Next. This could be the defender United need. dark

Do you think United will regret not making a move for Declan Rice?
