Manchester United receive major blow with Klopp set to steal key target

According to the latest reports, Manchester United could be set to receive a major blow as Liverpool look to prise away this key target from Utd’s grasp.
The ancient rivalry stems from tradition. Rival port cities Liverpool and Manchester have long shared hostilities towards one another. Even prior to football coming to existence. Inevitably the two Northern behemoths have since formed two of England’s most successful football clubs. Both Manchester United and Liverpool fans will admit this begrudgingly.
The achievements of the two teams should be respected.
Over the decades, the hegemony has shifted between the two powers. Matt Busby was the first pioneer at United, however Bill Shankly ousted his fellow Scotsman when he took charge of Liverpool in the 1960s. Liverpool’s hegemony would only be toppled 30 years later, when Sir Alex Ferguson took charge of the Red Devils to knock the Merseyside club off their perch.

Recently a new shift has emerged since the departure of Alex Ferguson. Jurgen Klopp arrived at Liverpool and he has transformed the Reds and returned the vestiges of long craved success at Anfield.
However, at Old Trafford, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, a man who honed his skills under Ferguson is desperate to end Klopp’s success at Liverpool and return the Red Devils from the ashes.
Solskjaer has implemented all the right philosophies. He has rekindled Ferguson’s ethos and is trying to repeat the Scotsman’s recipe for success. The Norwegian has made the youth thrive at Old Trafford once more. He has deployed free flowing attacking football and has laid the foundations for what could be the start of a fruitful era for the club.
Perhaps the one thing which remains missing from the puzzle is a forward. Over the years, the Red Devils have been blessed with attacking talent. However, Solskjaer is yet to find his frontman.
Victor Osimhen was seen as an ideal possibility with the young pacy Nigerian forward linked to United by several reports.
However it seems, the new Liverpool hegemony could be about to scupper the Red Devils’ desired move.
According to French outlet Le10Sport via the Daily Mail, Liverpool have opened talks with Victor Osimhen’s agent over a potential move.
That will be a bitter blow for Solskjaer and made especially worse by the fact that it is the club’s arch rivals.
