Manchester United: Has Solskjaer found the perfect striker target?
By Bence Bocsak
According to the latest reports, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could have found the perfect striker candidate ahead of the summer.
Manchester United have been blessed with world-class strikers throughout the club’s illustrious history. From the days of Duncan Edwards to George Best, Eric Cantona, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.
The Red Devils could always rely on their frontman to deliver the goods. Often times under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson, United had not one but two or three elite forwards capable of scoring at least twenty plus goals a season.
It is what made the Red Devils one of the most feared sides in the world.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who served as a striker under Sir Alex Ferguson for over a decade was often one of those elite players who could chip in with the goals. Solskjaer scored one of the most important goals of Ferguson’s reign at the Nou Camp against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.
Ironically, however, the Norwegian striker is currently devoid of forward options as a manger at the club.
Solskjaer was desperate to land his fellow compatriot Erling Braut Haland in the January transfer window, however ultimately he failed with his pursuit. Haland opted to sign for Borussia Dortmund instead and the rest is history. Meanwhile, United were forced to make a rushed transfer and brought in the temporary solution of Odion Ighalo.
In the summer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be desperate to make amends and find his very own forward transfer.
United have been linked with various targets over the past couple of months.
And now they have been purported to be interested in yet another forward. One who could be the perfect solution for the Red Devils.
According to French outlet Le10Sport via SportsLens, United are interested in making a move for Monaco forward Wissam Ben Yedder.
The report claims that United have already made ‘enquiries’ about the French international.
Wissam Ben Yedder is an extremely prolific striker. The diminutive forward has a knack for finding the back of the net with ease and that is exactly what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs. United have struggled with finishing off their chances this season.
Wissam Ben Yedder will mostly be remembered by United fans for scoring the goal to knock them out of the Champions League a couple of years ago.
Do you think Wissam Ben Yedder would be a good signing for United?
