Manchester United enter the race for Liverpool and Man City target

According to the latest reports, Manchester United could be making a move for this Liverpool and Manchester City target in the summer transfer window.
Sir Alex Ferguson once coined the term ‘attack wins you games, defence wins you titles.’ The adage has ringed true on plenty of occasions throughout Manchester United’s history. Especially under the leadership of the club’s iconic Scotsman.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who spent over a decade as a player under Ferguson honed many of his footballing knowledge under the legendary coach. It is evident in the the Norwegian’s philosophy. Since Solskjaer has taken charge of the Red Devils, he has tried to instil the same ideals as his former coach.
From promoting the youth, to playing a similar style of play focusing on quick counter attacking football.

And Solskjaer has also concentrated his efforts on bolstering the Red Devils’ defence. In his first summer window with the club, Solskjaer brought in the likes of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The pair of them have both become stalwart members of the starting eleven since their arrival.
However, despite the strong reinforcements, Solskjaer is keen to strengthen the squad even more.
The Norwegian wants to take United back to where the club belongs. Solskjaer wants to reignite the glory days under Ferguson.
He is desperate to be able to compete with the club’s arch rivals in Manchester City and Liverpool. Currently, Solskjaer is still a long way away from being able to fulfil that ambition when you look at the Premier League table. However some strong reinforcements could change that.
And an ideal partner for Harry Maguire could be of huge importance.
It seems in his quest to find the club captain’s partner, Solskjaer has identified a target who has been courted by the club’s arch rivals.
Both Manchester City and Liverpool have been linked with Leeds United defender Ben White.
However according to The Athletic via Football 365, United are also ‘keen’ on signing the young centre back.
Ben White is currently on loan from Brighton. He is a 22 year old defender who is extremely composed on the ball and has been hugely impressive for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United who look set to return to the Premier League after a long hiatus.
