According to the latest reports, Manchester United are could be about to sign the next Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer transfer window.

When the Portuguese number seven left Old Trafford, people wept. It was the end of the world. The end of an era and a sense of hopelessness suffused the Manchester United faithful.

Cristiano Ronaldo was the star of the Stretford End. The man who could do almost everything on the pitch. He made the fans gleam and led the Red Devils almost single-handedly at times.

The Portuguese superstar could slalom past players with ease and his shots were frightening for opposition goalkeepers. Ronaldo left behind him a plethora of breathtaking goals and memorable victories.

But alas, ultimately, even someone as beloved as Ronaldo could not succumb to the temptation of Real Madrid and lure of the Bernebeau.

His memories still linger on the turf at Old Trafford. Even over a decade since his departure, the Red Devils faithful yearn for a return of someone of the same ilk as the Portuguese superstar.

Many have tried and failed in the decade which has flown by since Ronaldo’s departure to erase his memories. However no one came even close. The likes of Angel Di Maria, Wilfried Zaha and Alexis Sanchez were all major flops.

Yet news have emerged that the Red Devils may have finally found a worthy heir to the Cristiano Ronaldo throne.

Two years ago, not many would have heard of Jadon Sancho. However 90 games, 31 goals and 44 assists later for Borussia Dortmund, the 20 year old, who recently celebrated his birthday, is starting to turn heads.

At the same age, Jadon Sancho has already surpassed Ronaldo’s goal and assists record.

There are definitely vestiges of Cristiano Ronaldo in Jadon Sancho’s style of play. Just like Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho is an accomplished dribbler of the ball, capable of bamboozling his opponents.

And with the Red Devils heavily linked to the young English international, a report by the Daily Express has claimed that Jadon Sancho could be Ed Woodward’s very own ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’ signing.

The report is certainly not wrong. Jadon Sancho looks well suited to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s explosive counter attacking style of play.
