Zidane set to put a major dent in Manchester United’s transfer plans
By Bence Bocsak
According to the latest reports, Zinedine Zidane could attract one of Manchester United’s key transfer targets to Real Madrid in the summer.
It wasn’t Zinedine Zidane who poached the last world-class Manchester United winger from Old Trafford. The Frenchman was still some years away from taking helm at the Bernebeau. However it had been Real Madrid who lured Cristiano Ronaldo away from the Red Devils.
At the time, Ronaldo departing for pastures new was a bitter blow. The Portuguese had been the star of the show at Old Trafford. He was adored by the Stretford End and a fan favourite.
Throughout the years, that wound has hardly been soothed at United. The Red Devils have frantically tried to replace their former number seven but their attempts have been to no avail.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s shadow still lingers in the stands at Old Trafford and resentment remains towards Real Madrid.
But now Zinedine Zidane is experiencing a same sense of foreboding at the club.
Cristiano Ronaldo left the Bernebeau almost two years ago, yet the Galacticos have failed to replace him just like United.
And it seems Real Madrid could deliver another bitter blow to United, this time in the Red Devils’ attempts to replace Ronaldo with Zidane set to move for the same transfer target as Solskjaer.
In Germany, more specifically Dortmund, a young Englishman is showing traits similar to that of Cristiano Ronaldo. In fact, his stats are better than Ronaldo at the same age.
Jadon Sancho is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in the world. He is the master of deceit, with rapid pace and the prowess to slalom past players with ease. On top of that he has a clever eye for a goal and an astute ability to set his team-mates up.
Sancho is a generational talent. He is rare and he certainly has the ability to become just as good as Cristiano Ronaldo.
Unsurprisingly, he has piqued the interests of United.
Many consider him to be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s primary transfer target in the summer. Some have tipped him to become the next Cristiano Ronaldo at Old Trafford.
However it seems Zinedine Zidane has similar sentiments at Real Madrid. According to the Daily Star via Manchester Evening News, Real Madrid are considering making a move for Jadon Sancho in the summer.
Madrid’s move could thwart United’s attempts and put a major dent in Solskjaer’s transfer plans.
The report should only motivate the Red Devils to accelerate their attempts to sign Jadon Sancho and once and for all erase the haunting memories of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Do you think Jadon Sancho can become as good as Ronaldo?
