Throughout the decades, two sides have wrestled for hegemony in England. It had begun in the 1950s with the rise of the Busby babes. When Sir Alex Ferguson was appointed as Manchester United manager, he declared he would ‘knock Liverpool off their perch.’ At the time everyone laughed.

Yet 20 years and 13 league titles later, the laughs turned into adulation.

Now there seems to be a new era of domination, the financial wealth of Manchester City has sent United down a slippery slope.

Jurgen Klopp meanwhile has made Liverpool rise from the ashes. The German is building his own dynasty and the Reds look unbeatable at this present moment.
