According to the latest reports this Borussia Dortmund star is available in the summer and Manchester United should try to sign him.
Manchester United have had plenty of bargains over the years. Often the best managers at the club have been those who had the ability to be nifty. Alex Ferguson was the master of bringing in players on the cheap.
The likes of Eric Cantona, Nemanja Vidic and Cristiano Ronaldo were all major coups under Ferguson’s reign.
The current man at the helm, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brought to Old Trafford for a mere £1.5 million as a player. He spent over a decade at the club and proved to be well worth the money.

Now as a manager he will be looking to score some bargains of his own.
Cast your mind back to 2014.
It is the 13th July 2014. Germany and Argentina are embroiled in a fierce clash. Deep into extra-time neither team has managed to break down their rigid barricades.
With the game stalemate, Mario Gotze chests down a cross inside the Argentine box. The ball rises in the air and as it drops the German, acrobatically, in mid-air pokes the ball towards the goal.
It’s a sweet strike and the ball nestles into the corner of the net.
Gotze runs off in jubilation. Germany are victorious.
It is the pinnacle of the young man’s career. At 22 years of age Mario Gotze has hit the ultimate dream of every aspiring player.
Hype has always surrounded Gotze since he was a young phenom.
His rapid dribbling ability and his creative flair has shaped him to be one of the best attacking midfielder prospects in the world.
Six years later, Mario Gotze has declined rapidly. Marred by injury problems, the German has never been able to rekindle his former prime.
Now after having spent yet another four years at Dortmund, Mario Gotze has announced he is embarking on a new chapter via the Evening Standard.
The German’s contract will expire in the summer and he will not extend it.
And whilst he might not be the prime Gotze which earned so much adulation, the German would not be a bad punt for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
On a free transfer, there is little risk.
But the pay-off could be huge. United are in dire need of midfield reinforcements and Mario Gotze has still done a solid job at Dortmund over the past couple of season.
He would be a better option than the likes of Andreas Pereira or Juan Mata.
It could be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first bargain arrival.
