According to the latest reports Manchester United are in a huge eight-way fight to sign this exciting wonder-kid in the summer transfer window.

Spaniards have rarely excelled at Manchester United. Scant few players have donned the Red Devils crest at Old Trafford from the nation.

Only very recently have United seen a Spanish revolution at the club. Following the arrival of David de Gea, United have had some long term Spanish servants in the likes of Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.

Prior to the trio, the only Spanish player to have played for the club was Gerard Pique but the centre back only played 23 senior games for United before returning to his boyhood club, Barcelona, where he established himself as one of the best centre backs in the world.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is yet to purchase a Spaniard but he could be on the brink of doing so.

According to Daily Express United are fighting for the services of Ferran Torres alongside several other Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Liverpool as well as European giants Juventus and Borussia Dortmund.

The stature of the clubs interested in the young Spaniard should be enough proof that Ferran Torres is a top talent.

The winger is blessed with a quick turn of pace and supple nifty feet able to beat defenders at ease even in tight paces. His close control and technical ability means Ferran Torres does not have to solely rely on his pace.

Despite his young age, having only just turned 20, Ferran Torres already has a plethora of experience. He has made almost 100 senior appearances for Valencia and over the years established himself as a key player for the Spanish club.

Valencia are a club renowned for producing attacking talent. The likes of Isco and David Silva came through the club’s academy system.

Ferran Torres will be hoping to follow suit.

Whether that will be at United, time will tell. But the Spaniard could certainly fit into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s explosive counter attacking style of play.

Ferran Torres’ pace could be a huge asset. The only concern will be whether he could adapt to the physicality of the Premier League.
