Shock as Ronaldo tipped to be the key for Manchester United star to leave

According to a recent claim, Cristiano Ronaldo could convince this Manchester United star to leave Old Trafford in the summer window.

The higher echelons of the football world are often fraught with controversy. Cristiano Ronaldo, former Manchester United hero, certainly belongs in that category.

The Portuguese winger has often come under fire for some of his antics in the media. Players of his ilk are often filled to the brim with wealth. They are under scrutiny perpetually by the media and that sort of attention can get under anyone’s skin.

Paul Pogba at United has faced similar scrutiny. The French player arrived as one of the most expensive transfers in the club’s history.

Pogba is a lively figure. He can be boisterous on and off the pitch and his quirky hairstyles have often attracted the media headlines and the fans’ disdain.

Perhaps, it comes as no surprise that the Frenchman is purported to be wanting a move away from England and the cameras.

For the past year, rumours about Pogba have been endless. His most likely destination until January seemed to have been Cristiano Ronaldo’s former place of abode, Real Madrid, however since January the Portuguese winger’s current place of residency in Juventus has entered the race for the Frenchman.

Paul Pogba spent an extremely successful four years at the Turin based club as a youngster. Juventus was the club where Paul Pogba made his name and the lure of returning to a place of comfort must be enticing.

And Pogba’s former teammate and French international, Bacary Sagna believes Cristiano Ronaldo could also be the key in convincing Pogba to rejoin Juventus. Speaking to Goal via Manchester Evening News, Sagna revealed that he sees Pogba ‘returning to Juventus because Cristiano (Ronaldo) is there.’

The presence of Cristiano Ronald at Juventus also makes Juventus have ‘more potential’ than Real Madrid according to Sagna.

And certainly the former French international has a point. Juventus have built a formidable squad over the years and with the opportunity for Paul Pogba to provide ammunition for the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, it would be one hard to resist.

Thought of course, United should do everything in their power, to ensure they get the best possible deal for their star man.
