The summer will be upon us soon. The sunshine is out in most places around the world. Flowers have started to bloom. And Manchester United have started to plot their plans for the transfer window.

And whilst most of the focus in the media has been about the arrivals at Old Trafford, with many players surplus to requirements at United, there could be some departures too.

More from Red Devil Armada

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is undertaking a major rebuild with the Red Devils. The Norwegian endured an extremely fruitful decade at Old Trafford as a player and now he is hoping to rekindle the good times once again as a manager.

However to return to the pinnacle of world football, United will need to discard some players in the squad who are not quite good enough.

Plenty of players in the squad have put in below par performances this season. But none more so than the Brazilian Andreas Pereira.

Born in Belgium of Brazilian descent, Andreas Pereira honed his skills at PSV Eindhoven. He was brought into Old Trafford in 2011 as a 15 year old with high hopes.

Having impressed in the club’s academy for three years going through the ranks, Andreas Pereira developed a reputation as a wonderkid.

Many regarded him as the answer to much of United’s creative problems, however Pereira would only make his senior debut at the age of 18.

After struggling to break into the club’s first team, Pereira was loaned out on two consecutive loan spells.

One at Granada and another one at Valencia. The Brazilian international impressed enough to warrant himself a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad.

This season in particular, Andreas Pereira has featured frequently. However, his performances have been less than impressive which has elicited several reports linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.

However speaking to the club’s official website via the Daily Mirror, Andreas Pereira has denied those rumours.

The Brazilian said the following:

"“I’m very honoured and that’s why, as well, I want to stay at United. I want to fight for him (Ole Gunnar Solskjaer), win games and win trophies.”"

His determination to succeed is admirable. Time will soon decide his future.
