Manchester United set to make a shock move for former star

According to the latest reports Manchester United could be make a hugely surprising move for one of their former stars in the summer transfer window.
At Old Trafford for over a decade now a shadow has lingered around the theatre of dreams. Players and managers have come and gone at Manchester United but none had left such an indelible mark on the club as Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese attacker arrived at Old Trafford as a spotty teenager with braces and shabby long hair. His skinny frame made United fans question the sanity of Sir Alex Ferguson. However, the Red Devils players had demanded the Scotsman to sign the young star after Ronaldo impressed in a fixture against the club in the previous season, and they were determined that he needed to be at Old Trafford.
It took a while for the young Portuguese star to get going. Yet, even earlier on there were flashes of his brilliance. His silky feet, the lightning quick step-overs and dazzling pace. However it would take time for Cristiano Ronaldo to adapt to the physicality of the Premier League.

Once he eventually settled at Old Trafford, the sky was the limit for United’s number seven. Cristiano Ronaldo led the Red Devils on spectacular title charges and a Champions League triumph.
In his best season, Ronaldo netted 31 times in the Premier League which is a record that still stands today.
Sadly, in the summer of 2009 the Portuguese would depart for pastures new at Real Madrid where Ronaldo established himself as one of the best players to have ever played the sport.
And every summer since, the Red Devils faithful have yearned for his return.
United have tried to fill the void to no avail. The likes of Angel Di Maria, Wilfried Zaha and Alexis Sanchez all proved to be major disappointments.
But that could soon change.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Marca via the Daily Express, Cristiano Ronaldo could be on the move this summer and the Portuguese star would be ‘open’ to a return to Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo is now 35 years of age but he has proven he is still a supreme talent at the peak of his powers having already netted 21 Serie A goals this season.
There would be few complaints about his arrival at United.
