According to the latest reports, Manchester United could be on the brink of completing their first summer signing of the summer transfer window.

In their heyday, Manchester United were always the pioneers of transfer recruitment. During their reigns, Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson found ways to stay ahead of the curve. They knew which players to buy and had a knack for bringing players of exceptional talent to Old Trafford.

From the likes of Denis Law, George Best, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, the Red Devils always signed the best young phenoms in every generation.

Now as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stands on the precipice of his managerial career at United, he will be hoping to continue the club’s ethos as he sets out his future vision.

More from Red Devil Armada

Since the Norwegian has returned to Old Trafford as a coach, the Red Devils have staunchly recruited talent with an eye leaning towards the future.

The average age of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s transfers has been 23.25 years old at United.

It is a policy which the Norwegian will look to continue into the summer.

Exemplified by the latest reports, with Sky Sports claiming that United have made a bid for Jude Bellingham and hope ‘it is enough’ to land the 16 year old Birmingham City star.

Jude Bellingham has not only been an integral part of Birmingham’s first team this season after only turning 16 years of age in June, but he has played in every position across the midfield highlighting his versatility.

Bellingham’s fervent energy on the pitch and his exquisite technique has made him one of the most coveted young talents in English football at the moment.

Bellingham has the potential to be of the same ilk as the aforementioned signings of Busby and Ferguson.

He fits the mould.

And with United short of midfield options, and more crucially midfield flair, he could be an ideal addition.

At such a tender age, the sky is the limit for Jude Bellingham.

He already stands head and shoulders above the rest of his age group and could be a generational talent. His playing style is unique and it is hard to draw comparisons.

This is how we rate every United transfer this season. dark. Next
