Manchester United legend makes shocking transfer statement
By Bence Bocsak
This Manchester United legend has been speaking online about the Red Devils’ summer window and revealed a shocking statement.
Once upon a time Rio Ferdinand was the most expensive Manchester United transfer of all time. He made the controversial move from Leeds United to the Red Devils and he shocked the world to the core.
The United legend therefore knows all about high profile transfers and what it takes to arrive at a club with big expectations and a steep price-tag.
Ferdinand will be aware that his former team-mate, and current United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have a tough summer transfer window ahead of him.

The Red Devils aspire to climb back to the pinnacle of English football and having fallen dramatically from their perch, the climb is a steep one.
United will need a whole array of new signings in order to even come close to being able to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool.
An ideal transfer could have been Philippe Coutinho of Barcelona, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford and with his proven quality in the Premier League the transfer seems like a no brainer.
However, Rio Ferdinand does not believe that is the case. According to the former United centre back who spoke on Instagram live via the Daily Express, with the new addition of Bruno Fernandes, Philippe Coutino is not needed at Old Trafford.
Ferdinand said the following:
"“I would have said Man United, yes, before Bruno Fernandes turned up, but not now.”"
The statement is a shocking remark from the United legend. Coutinho, may not be in the greatest form at the moment, but the popular adage goes that class is permanent and form is temporary.
At a club like, United Philippe Coutinho could thrive with the attacking and free flowing football Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has instilled.
While Fernandes has been an astute addition, the two are very different players. Coutinho is most comfortable on the wing and he is able to cut in and set up attacks from the flanks, meanwhile Fernandes likes to play through the middle and is more of an all-around midfielder.
The pair of them could form a formidable duo and Fernandes’ presence should not discourage United from making a move for Philippe Coutinho.
Would you be happy with the signing of Philippe Coutinho?
