According to the latest reports Manchester United have set their sights on the following two strikers ahead of the summer transfer window.

Manchester United have been fortunate enough to have some of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers don the famous Red Devils crest. From the likes of Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole, Dwight Yorke, Dimitar Berbatov, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Carlos Tevez and Robin van Persie, the list is endless.

It means the club have always had a prolific goalscorer who they could rely on to hit well over double figures.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s name deserves to be amongst the aforementioned players. The Norwegian scored plenty of famous goals during his time at Old Trafford.

However ironically as a manager he currently lacks a forward who has the potential to be the linchpin of the United line-up.

The likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford both prefer to play out-wide. Odion Ighalo has started well as a United player but he is clearly a temporary solution and is yet to prove himself in big games. Meanwhile Mason Greenwood is too young to be solely relied on.

The Norwegian boss needs a more permanent and world class solution. Someone who is of the same ilk as the list of players above.

And it seems the Red Devils have identified two perfect candidates who could be exactly just that at Old Trafford.

The Evening Standard via Goal reports that United are targeting Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Raul Jimenez of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Both could be ideal additions at Old Trafford, but the one that will excite the fans the most is Harry Kane.

Kane is on a similar trajectory to Alan Shearer in terms of goals scored in the Premier League and he was the top scorer at the last World Cup in 2018.

The current England captain definitely has the ability to score double figures season after season and at just 26 years of age he has plenty of years left at the top.

Raul Jimenez would be a more underwhelming signing compared to Kane. But the Mexican forward has proven himself to be a potent player this season. He currently has 22 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Wolverhampton.

But whilst Kane’s transfer fee would be an exponential fee, United might be able to sign Jimenez for much cheaper.

Who would you like United to sign out of Harry Kane and Raul Jimenez?
