The best players in the world are no longer flocking to Old Trafford.
Their eyes are set towards the other side of Manchester and Merseyside.
Meanwhile the Red Devils are left to pick the best of those who are left.
It has seen the club go from competing in the Champions League and fighting for the Premier League title to struggling to make the top four.
But things seem to be changing at Old Trafford.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s former prodigy, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, is now at the helm.
The Norwegian enjoyed a stellar time under Ferguson as a player and now he is hoping to bring back the glory days.
The Red Devils are already showing vestiges of hope. Especially since the January transfer window.
United have been impressive securing some important victories against rivals Chelsea and Manchester City. Their performances have often been reminiscent of famous Sir Alex Ferguson sides.
And it seems the impressive form is starting to attract some of the best players in the world back to Old Trafford again.
Harry Kane was the top-goalscorer at the World Cup. The England captain has a decorated goal-scoring record in the Premier League and he is still just 26 years old.
With his side, Tottenham, looking unlikely to reach the Champions League the latest reports have claimed he is disillusioned with the project at the London club.
According to reports, Kane would be open to a move to United.
And Tribal Football via the Daily Express has claimed that Harry Kane would even favour a move to the Red Devils over their arch rivals Manchester City.
With a reported £250 million budget for the summer transfer window, Solskjaer would have no problem affording his services.
It seems the good times are starting to creep back to Old Trafford.
Would you be happy if United signed Harry Kane?
