Manchester United’s shocking summer transfer budget revealed

The latest report claims to have unveiled Manchester United’s transfer budget ahead of the summer window and it is a surprising amount.

Often times it is not matches which define a club’s season. Rather it is what the team does in an off-season that matters. More crucially for Manchester United it will be their transfer dealings in the summer which will have a huge impact on the trajectory of their season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer learnt the lesson the hard way at Old Trafford. The former United player endured a tumultuous first summer transfer window.

In the summer of 2019, Solskjaer allowed numerous key players to depart the Red Devils and failed to adequately replace them. A great case in point was the departure of the talismanic forward, Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

More from Red Devil Armada

The Belgian striker’s move from Old Trafford left Solskjaer desperately short of attacking options and often the Red Devils struggled as a result.

When the summer blooms this time around, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer must ensure he will not make the same mistake.

Solskjaer clearly has a set vision at Old Trafford. His ambition is to take the club back to where it belongs and for that the Norwegian still needs reinforcements.

It seems however that Solskjaer will have no excuses when it comes to monetary funds to sanction transfers.

According to a recent report by the Times, United will have a £250 million war-chest to spend in the summer.

That could see some heavy investment without a doubt.

The likes of Harry Kane, Jadon Sancho and Kalidou Koulibaly have been linked with moves to Old Trafford already.

In order to ensure the expectations are fulfilled at Old Trafford during the 2020-21 season, £250 million could potentially afford two of the aforementioned players.

Whoever Solskjaer decides to go for, any two of the trio could have a transformative impact on the team.

And even if the Red Devils do not go for the trio, £250 million should be enough to bring in the right calibre of players in order to bolster the squad.

Solskjaer will certainly have no excuses with such a hefty budget.
