Manchester United set to finally sell this underperforming star
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United are expected to sell one of their underperforming stars who has been below par during the last few months.
Often in transition periods a club has to part with players who are no longer at the level they require. Despite the sentimental attachment this can often involve, it is a necessary process of a club’s development. In the case of Jesse Lingard and Manchester United that might just be the case.
Jesse Lingard joined the Red Devils at just 8 years of age. He has represented the club at almost every level and has been in and around the first team for almost a decade after being given his debut by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Lingard has endured several loan spells, tumultuous spells under managers and even some injury scares.

Through it all the Red Devils midfielder has always persevered. His determination and fighting spirit eventually led to his place in the United starting eleven.
For a couple of years he was undoubtedly a key asset for the club. Often exemplary at coming off the bench and making an impact, during the 2017/18 campaign Lingard enjoyed a stellar individual season.
His 13 goals and 7 assists in all competitions was certainly an impressive return.
It seemed Jesse Lingard had finally blossomed into the player he was meant to become.
A stunning long range striker in the World Cup that summer was the perfect confirmation.
However, things since then have taken a rapid downhill turn for Jesse Lingard at Old Trafford.
With the departure of Jose Mourinho, the new United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, does not seem to favour the midfielder.
Having fallen out of form, Jesse Lingard has now fallen down the pecking order too. He finds himself struggling to get minutes in the Premier League and that will surely continue as Bruno Fernandes maintains his good run of form.
The downfall has been sad to see. Most ardent United supporters love to see an academy product make it in the first team. Jesse Lingard has been a major success in terms of that, however it seems the end is nigh for the player at Old Trafford.
According to Goal via the Daily Mail Jesse Lingard will be ‘sold’ in the summer transfer window.
At the end of the day Jesse Lingard gave it his all and fell slightly short. No matter what, you can only wish him the best in his future endeavours.
Will you be sad to see Jesse Lingard depart in the summer transfer window?
