Manchester United edging closer to world class signing

Manchester United are getting closer and closer to signing an important player in the summer transfer window according to the latest reports.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to establish a dynasty at Manchester United. For years he served as a player during the club’s most successful period under the leadership of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Now as a manager it is the Norwegian’s time to shine and emulate his former master.

However he has a mighty task ahead of him.

More from Red Devil Armada

The United squad Solskjaer inherited over a year ago was a broken mess. There were far too many deadwood players at Old Trafford.

The process of getting rid of those players and adding new ones in order to build up a strong squad of course takes a long time.

But Solskjaer has made the right steps at United so far.

The Norwegian has certainly built the important foundations necessary for United to become an elite club again.

The arrival of Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer, as well as the signing of Bruno Fernandes in January alongside the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial has established the core spine of the team.

Now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer just needs to fill the cracks in order to ensure he has the perfect squad at his disposal ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The summer transfer window will be a crucial period.

Already the club have been linked with the likes of Harry Kane and Jadon Sancho.

However the arrival which could benefit the Red Devils the most would be the signing of Kalidou Koulibaly.

The Napoli centre back is regarded as one of the best in the world. He has consistently dominated the Serie A and has even impressed in the Champions League against elite opponents.

And it seems according to Sports Witness journalist Fabio Santini via Caught Offside ‘there is a growing interest’ from Manchester United in Kalidou Koulibaly.

That will undoubtedly excite the United faithful.

Solskjaer is yet to find an adequate partner for club captain Harry Maguire and with Koulibaly’s pedigree he would certainly be an ideal option.

Thanks to his strength and pace, the Senegalese could swiftly adapt to the English game.

Would you be happy if United signed Kalidou Koulibaly?
