The pacey striker who hails from New York signed for Belgian outfit Gent in 2018, since then Jonathan David has made great strides.
After an impressive debut season in which David netted 14 times in 43 appearances, the youngster has upped his game even more this season.
So far Jonathan David has scored 23 goals in 40 appearances in all competitions for Gent in the current campaign. In addition he has also given out 10 assists.
What is extremely impressive about Jonathan David is his versatility. The Canadian has been deployed in a number of positions for Gent this season, including as an out and out forward, a number ten and as a wide winger.
David has played with distinction in all the roles, and that could be a huge asset for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
