Manchester United will have a busy summer transfer window and it will be a key period for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Here are five players the club should sign.

In recent times, summer transfer windows have been gruelling experiences for the Red Devils faithful.

Negotiations for key targets have dragged on, the club have made some major blunders and have occasionally even failed to address key positions which needed to be fixed within the squad.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s summer was a mixed bag last year. The Norwegian brought in the towering Harry Maguire and his move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka definitely strengthened the defence.

However Solskjaer’s failure to sign adequate replacements for the departing Fellaini, Herrera and Lukaku was a huge mistake and United’s lack of squad depth definitely made their results suffer during the first half of the campaign.

Thankfully due to players returning from injury, and the arrival of Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo in January Unite’s problems have been somewhat rectified.

However the problems could resurface if the club endures another injury crisis.

In the summer, Solskjaer is planning to spend big on the likes of Jadon Sancho, Harry Kane or Kalidou Koulibaly.

But he will also need to fill the squad with cheap additions in order to make sure United won’t suffer the same problems if an injury crisis occurs again.

Here are five ideal candidates to do exactly just that.

1. Odsonne Edouard

Position: Forward

Age: 22

The French striker who is a product of Paris Saint Germain’s academy has been in red hot form for Celtic in Scotland over the last couple of years.

His pace and strength makes him a real nuisance for opposition defenders and he has an impressive goalscoring record this season having found the back of the net 22 times in 27 games for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

United have been linked with Eduard’s compatriot Moussa Dembele who also made his mark at Celtic before making the step-up to Lyon.

Edouard certainly seems on par with Dembele and he would surely be the cheaper option of the two.

The 22 year old striker could become a great back-up for Martial if he is injured.
