Spanish giants to sign Manchester United’s best player

Manchester United could lose one of their star players to Spanish giants, Real Madrid, in the upcoming summer transfer window and it’s not Pogba.

Real Madrid have often pursued Manchester United’s players relentlessly. In the past two decades the Spanish giants have bought some of the Red Devils’ best and most important players.

From David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo to Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Madrid have been the thorn to United’s side on plenty of occasions.

With United’s stock dwindling and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to get the Red Devils back to where they belong, Real Madrid have begun their pursuit at the most unwelcome time for the club.

It has been well publicised that Real Madrid are keen on signing Paul Pogba from Old Trafford, though Real’s interest seems to have dissipated over the past few months.

Especially since United have begun to demand a hefty fee for their star player.

The emergence of Real’s Federico Valverde has shifted a potential move for Pogba away from the club’s priorities. Instead Real have set their sights elsewhere in order to bolster other areas of the pitch.

However their sights are still on Manchester United.

According to the latest report by the Sun via the Daily Mail, Zinedine Zidane is keen to get a new number one goalkeeper at the Bernebeau and he sees David de Gea as the perfect candidate for the role.

De Gea, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford earlier this week, has not been in the best form lately and his errors have cost the Red Devils.

However, Madrid have been long term admirers of the Spanish goalkeeper, who they almost signed five years ago when a deal fell through in the last minute.

Form is temporary and class is permanent, and David de Gea is still regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world which means the Red Devils will be able to demand a hefty fee for his services.

With a ready made replacement lined-up in the impressive Dean Henderson, perhaps letting David de Gea depart to Real Madrid will not be a huge disaster.
