Neymar set to threaten Manchester United’s transfer plans

Paris Saint Germain and Neymar could thwart Manchester United’s summer transfer window plans according to the latest reports.

The transfer window is frantic. News moves fast, players move perpetually and suddenly. It is unpredictable and it has brought both joy and misery to Manchester United in the past.

When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will embark in his second summer transfer window at Old Trafford in a few months time, he will be hoping to not repeat his mistakes from last year.

Last summer, the Red Devils allowed a large bulk of the squad to leave without adequately replacing the ones who departed.

While, Solskjaer brought in some key players to fix important positions in the squad, such as Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the transfer window ultimately ended in major disappointment.

January was not free of misery either. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s primary target, Erling Braut Haland rejected the club in favour of a move to Borussia Dortmund.

Of course at the time, United’s chances of making the Champions League appeared slim, however now with Manchester City’s impending ban and United having climbed up the table as well as Chelsea’s abysmal form, things are looking much brighter for Solskjaer.

The summer will be crucial in rebuilding the squad and completing the puzzle at Old Trafford. Of course the new arrivals will hinge on that all important Champions League qualification.

However it isn’t just the Champions League which could scupper United’s plans.

According to the Sunday Mirror via the Daily Express, United could lose their major transfer target Jadon Sancho to Paris Saint Germain in the summer.

The report claims that with Neymar set to depart to Barcelona, Paris Saint Germain will look to replace him with Jadon Sancho.

That could be a major blow for the Red Devils who have been perpetually linked with the winger.

However, despite the club’s fortunes, it will be difficult for them to compete with Paris Saint Germain’s might.

United must therefore brace themselves for the worst or simply hope that Neymar’s move to Barcelona falls through just like it did last summer.

If it does, Sancho could have an easy path to Old Trafford.

What do you think, will United sign Jadon Sancho?
