Manchester United given major Ed Woodward update
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United have been given a major new update about the club’s current situation by Ed Woodward and it is big news for the Red Devils.
Manchester United were undoubtedly on the brink of turmoil last month. The Red Devils were close to not making a single signing and pressure mounted on the shoulders of Ed Woodward.
The club’s chief has rightly come under scrutiny for his ineptitude at the club. Woodward has failed to secure the right calibre of signings and missed out on some of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s key targets including Erling Braut Haland.
United’s transfer policy has made no sense over the last couple of seasons. The Red Devils have clearly over spent on some epic flops and have given hefty wages to players who have not merited it.

Of course Ed Woodward isn’t entirely to blame, there are many others working in the background not as notorious who have made equally major errors. However as the person in charge, the Manchester United chief should be responsible for the brunt of the negativity surrounding Old Trafford.
Of course the insidious fans who protested outside Woodward’s homes were out of hand, however the criticism is not.
It is no surprise therefore that Ed Woodward’s situation is tenuous at Old Trafford. There are speculations about the club appointing a new sporting director who could potentially replace Ed Woodward’s role at the club.
However it seems that the United chief is determined to make things work. And speaking in his opening statement ahead of investors’ calls via Manchester Evening News, Ed Woodward gave his clear plans on how he intends to make the Red Devils return back to the pinnacle of world football.
Ed Woodward has acknowledged that the current season has been one of ‘rebuild’ with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer implementing his own players into the team from the academy and through new signings.
Ed Woodward reassured everyone that this ‘process will continue.’
His last suggestion implies that the Red Devils are set for a busy summer transfer window which will be music to the ears of the Old Trafford faithful.
What do you think should Ed Woodward keep his place at United?
