Manchester United have finally found their Cristiano Ronaldo replacement

It seems Manchester United have finally found the perfect replacement for their former star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, and it’s exciting times ahead.

Old Trafford still often lingers in the memory of Cristiano Ronaldo. Over a decade since his departure from Manchester United, traces of his greatness remain at the club and the void is yet to be filled.

Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the best players to have every played for United. His talent was generational. No one will even come close to the ability Ronaldo had on the ball. The way he could dribble past players with ease and his fearsome long range strikes.

Yet it seems the Red Devils might be on the verge of concocting a replacement who could at least erase the lingering memories of Cristiano Ronaldo.

For the first time in a while, a Portuguese midfielder had once again set the Jose Alvalade Stadium gleaming with joy.

He scored some spectacular goals and virtually carried the team all on his own. He showed talent which exceeded the quality of the Portuguese division.

The description sounds eerily familiar.

But no the man in question is not Cristiano Ronaldo. It is in fact Bruno Fernandes.

The destination after Sporting however is the same. Just like Ronaldo made the step from Jose Alvalade to Old Trafford, Bruno Fernandes has followed suit.

Inspired by his compatriot, Bruno Fernandes is hoping to emulate Ronaldo’s success with Manchester United.

Speaking to Sky Sports News the Portuguese midfielder revealed:

"“When Cristiano burst on to the scene here in Manchester, he spent a good chunk of his early career here and enjoyed so much success.That’s why it was a dream of mine to play for Manchester United and I’m very pleased to be here because it’s a childhood dream come true.”"

And why can he not abate the perpetual calls of a sensational return for Cristiano Ronaldo?

Bruno Fernandes has similar traits.

While the pair do not play in the same position, they have that same ability to conjure something out of the blue. To score a spectacular goal from long distance, to make that clever defence splitting pass or to dribble past defences with ease.

Just like Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes can change games single handedly. He has the potential to become a world class midfielder and a legend at Manchester United.

Hailing from the same club, the Red Devils may have their Cristiano Ronaldo replacement at last.
