An international manager has revealed an intriguing Manchester United interest for one of his star players in his current set-up.
The January transfer window might have ended but activity for the Manchester United board certainly has not ceased. The Red Devils are perpetually on the hunt for bargains, scouting and negotiating deals for potential recruits throughout every period of the year.
At a club the stature of Manchester United and the magnitude of the rebuilding process which is taking place at Old Trafford under the leadership of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the board’s job is even more strenuous than usual.
United are in a major plight at the moment and they are in desperate need of reinforcements to rejuvenate the squad and help the Red Devils back to where they belong.

An area in which they have lacked quality all throughout the season has been in midfield and it seems they had a perfect midfield addition lined-up for the January transfer window according to the Danish international manager Age Hareide.
According to the Norwegian coach who spoke to Viasport via the Manchester Evening News, United were interested in signing Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.
Christian Eriksen has since moved on to Inter Milan and the Red Devils have signed Bruno Fernandes in a similar position, but the recent reveal is definitely a curious insight into the way United conduct business.
Christian Eriksen would have been a shrewd addition considering the small fee he left Tottenham for and the form he has been in since then for Inter Milan. However, with United being Spurs’ main rival for the top four position, the London based club would have been reluctant to allow Christian Eriksen to sign for the Red Devils.
In addition, Eriksen is also 28 years old and does not have many years left in his prime. His last couple of seasons at Tottenham have highlighted that with the player a shadow of himself and already starting to lose his pace.
Despite paying a hefty fee for Bruno Fernandes, the Red Devils definitely got the better player. The Portuguese is much younger and a much better fit for the Red Devils’ system.
What do you think, would Christian Eriksen have been a better signing for Manchester United than Bruno Fernandes?
