The reported favourite to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford has given a major boost in Manchester United’s pursuit.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s face on the sidelines has often been etched into a grimace. The Manchester United boss has found life at Old Trafford toilsome upon his return to the Red Devils.
As a player things were so easy. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer won every trophy under the sun. He scored a plethora of goals, some very important which forged him a cult hero status among Red Devils supporters.

The Norwegian has had to deal with an injury crisis losing some of his key members during important parts of the season. On top of that there has been unsettled players such as the likes of Paul Pogba to contend with. And worst of all an inept board who failed to secure his key transfer targets.
That grimace on the sidelines, sometimes veiled by a forced smile, is an illustration of his miserable time at the club.
Whilst most fans have urged for patience and more time to be given to Solskjaer to deliver his vision, the world of football is cynical. Patience is non-existent and so the Manchester United manager job is certainly a coveted one right now and Solskjaer’s position fragile.
The likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Massimiliano Allegri have both been linked with the potential opportunity to takeover from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
And it has been the Italian Massimiliano Allegri who has emerged as the favourite.
Massimiliano Allegri’s agent, speaking to La Politica Nel Palone via the Daily Mail, has revealed that Massimiliano Allegri would ‘like to abroad’ for his next managerial position.
Allegri has taken some time off after an extremely successful period at Juventus, and his desire to manage outside of Italy will be music to the ears of the Manchester United board.
With his world class pedigree Massimiliano Allegri would definitely be well equipped to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
What do you think, should Manchester United replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer?
