Manchester United’s Ed Woodward is reported to have a made a huge threat whilst representing the club during the January transfer window.

Ed Woodward’s time at Old Trafford will forever be tainted by the fact that he has failed to meet the expectations of the Red Devils’ faithful. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world and Ed Woodward has at times let the Red Devils down.

The United chief has not managed to sign the calibre of players that United require and often he has been criticised for his apparent poor negotiations skills which has seen the club fail to land some key targets.

Those key targets included Erling Braut Haland in the January window who Ed Woodward could not attract to Old Trafford despite the fact that Haaland could have been teaming up with his first mentor in the game in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Ed Woodward’s failure with Haaland opting to sign for Borussia Dortmund instead, left him in a frantic rush come deadline day. On the final day amidst the rush and frenzy the Manchester United chief reportedly made a damning threat to one of the player’s teams he was pursuing.

According to the Athletic via the Daily Express Ed Woodward made a stunning claim to Bournemouth chief as he made a desperate attempt to try to bring Joshua King to Manchester United.

Ed Woodward is quoted to have said the following:

"“You have 15 minutes to tell us whether you accept, or we’ll be signing a player from China.”"

The statement ringed true in the end with the United chief sanctioning a move to bring Odion Ighalo in a last ditched attempt.

But the report by the Athletic paints a damning picture of a frantic Ed Woodward who went about his business quite haphazardly and seemed to lack direction and clarity.

The latest report will only add more to the fuel of the fans’ growing discontent towards Ed Woodward and the United chief’s job is surely hanging by a thin thread.
