Manchester United target reveals desire to leave in shock stamement

The long term Manchester United target has revealed his desire to leave his current club and move to pastures new if given the chance.

Even the most ardent Manchester United supporter in the world would admit that the club are far away from being the best team in the world right now. Yet regardless, the Red Devils still have a huge status in world football thanks to their global brand and rich trophy laden history.

Despite the club’s poor run of form, the Red Devils still have a huge pulling power when it comes to attracting the best players around the world and bringing them to Old Trafford.

For many players, playing for United and putting on that Red Devils shirt still possess that prestige and represents their childhood dreams and aspirations to play for a big club.

For Watford star midfielder, Abdoulaye Doucoure, that certainly seems to be the case. The 27 year old French midfielder has been an outstanding performer for Watford in the Premier League over the last number of years. His best season coming during the 2017/18 campaign in which he netted seven goals for the club. But Doucoure has been a consistent performer since then and his towering figure often enables him to dictate games and dominate his opponents.

Manchester United have been linked with the player in the past via Manchester Evening News and the English outlet reports that Doucoure has hinted at a possible exit from Watford whilst speaking to Canal+. Abdoulaye Doucoure said the following to the French media source:

"“If a big club manages to make an interesting offer for me, of course the club will let me leave, easily,”"

That will be music to the ears of the Manchester United board. It seems Doucoure is open to a move away from Watford and he also added that he would like to ‘stay in the Premier League’ which also gives the Red Devils a further boost in their pursuit.

Nonetheless Doucoure’s statement mid-season comes as a bit of a surprise and his current London based club will not be thrilled about his comments. Though it could convince them to sell seeing that Doucoure is not too keen on remaining at Watford.

Doucoure’s playing style would be a good fit for Manchester United. The club’s midfield has often been flat and devoid of the energy which Doucoure often brings to his Watford side and he could slot in well alongside Bruno Fernandes and Paul Pogba.
