Manchester United are set for a hugely exciting summer window and an extremely crucial one, here is what they plan to do.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has one of the toughest jobs in the world at the moment. Manchester United are for from being in a stable position and the club appears to be on a major decline.

It is hard watching the Red Devils. Solskjaer himself has had to veil his grimaces in forced and gritted smiles. The performances have been so dire the club has slipped down to 8th position in the Premier League.

Chances of a long sought after Champions League spot appear slim. The club’s only other option is to secure a miracle victory in the Europa League and Solskjaer may be forced into making that gamble with a thin squad at his disposal.

Much of the club’s struggles have been down to a disappointing injury crisis which has seen the likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Scott McTominay ruled out for extensive periods of the season.

That has left the club very short of options in the squad and Solskjaer has been forced to play youngsters for much of the season as replacements.

The reason for that is because Solskjaer and co failed to deliver a successful transfer window in the summer.

The Norwegian snipped away some of the club’s deadwood but did not replace the departing players which has left him with a shortage of options.

This summer the club will have to ensure they do not make the same mistake if they are serious about getting Manchester United back to where they will belong.

Attacking reinforcements will be especially necessary with the Red Devils currently having only the temporary loan signing Odion Ighalo and youngster Mason Greenwood as an out and out forward option in the squad.

Fortunately it seems that United do plan to resolve the issue in the summer. According to the Manchester Evening News via 101 Great Goals the Red Devils are planning on making two forward signings in the summer in order to bolster Solskjaer’s options.

That will be music to the ears of the United faithful.
