Manchester United block star player’s departure from the club

Manchester United reportedly prevented one of their star young players to leave the club in the January transfer window last month.
Manchester United have had a topsy turvy season thus far. The Red Devils are on a clear and rapid decline. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperately trying to prevent a sinking ship at Old Trafford, yet his job isn’t helped by the general mood of discontent around the club.
From the fans, to the board and the players, nobody seems to really want to be at Manchester United right now.
Wearing the shirt and representing the club almost seems like a burden to some.

It is why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has often sighed and grimaced on the sidelines. With his arms crossed, he has been helpless as the Red Devils have run into some embarrassing and torrid results.
The Norwegian’s ambition to get the Red Devils back to where they belong seems like a lofty dream that will never bear any fruition.
Yet Solskjaer keeps persevering. He is desperate to fulfil his ambitions and refuses to rest.
The Norwegian has stayed resolute when needed to and has remained calm in the face of adversity.
One way the United boss has tried to ensure the club remains where they are is by keeping hold of players he values as integral parts of the squad. One of these said players is Angel Gomes.
According to the Manchester Evening News via the Metro, the Red Devils ‘blocked’ Angel Gomes’ transfer request and thwarted potential interest from another Premier League side during the January transfer window.
Gomes has been one of the best performers in the club’s U23 sides and has also featured sporadically for the club’s first team this season.
The youngster is expected to have a big future in the game and has been tipped to become a future superstar after becoming the youngest player to represent United since Duncan Edwards in 1953.
The fact that United prevent Gomes moving on from the club means they must still value him highly.
