Manchester United beat Spanish giants to major signing
By Bence Bocsak
According to reports Manchester United beat Spanish giants Barcelona to their biggest singing of the January transfer window in a huge coup.
Old Trafford has not been as boisterous as it was on late Saturday afternoon in the Premier League match against Wolves for quite some time. Outside the ground, prior to kick off the fans were in a frenzy. Excitement was all around. In the stands when the teams walked out there was a huge roar. The fans sang with passion and ferocity. It seemed that Manchester United’s fortunes were finally turning around.
Unfortunately the game ultimately yielded a goalless draw with the Red Devils unable to find the back of the net. However the excitement remained. Manchester United’ new signing Bruno Fernandes was spectacular on the night and earned a well deserved man of the match.
With every touch Bruno Fernandes dazzled his opponents. He oozed quality and was constantly proving a major threat to the Wolverhampton defence. He tried to angle through ball, fed his teammates as much as possible and kept the United midfield constantly ticking. It was a breath of fresh air in a midfield which has often been stagnant this season and devoid of that creative flair.

In Barcelona, the new Catalans’ boss Quique Setien must have watched the game with envy. Barcelona are in need of midfield reinforcements too and their midfield has often looked ragged this season. According to the Daily Mirror Barcelona tried to ‘hijack’ the Red Devils’ move for the former Sporting midfielder but it was to no avail. Bruno Fernandes ended up joining the Red Devils from the Portuguese club.
That is a major coup for United. Barcelona are one of the major global names in world football and the fact that Bruno Fernandes opted for United over the Catalans is proof that the Red Devils’ status remains intact.
It is a testament to the club’s rich history and the potential which is still there for greatness. Bruno Fernandes could be key in helping United get back to where they belong and the fans should be delighted he chose the Red Devils over Barcelona.
What do you think will Bruno Fernandes be a good signing for Manchester United?
