Manchester United: Why Bruno Fernandes is the perfect signing

Manchester United look set to complete a deal for the Portuguese midfielder, Bruno Fernandes, and he has the potential to be the perfect signing.

At Old Trafford you can see it from the stands. Even right at the top of the Sir Alex Ferguson stand. In fact you can even see it from the television screens thousands of kilometres away. Manchester United have had one major problem so far this season. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows. The Red Devils’ fans know.

The Red Devils’ midfield is inept. It lacks a spine. Their is no rigidity to it and it is devoid of flair and creativity.

United have an ageing midfield. It is filled with stars who are becoming veterans of the game or top players who have been sidelined for the vast majority of the season such as Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

Their absence has greatly impacted on results at the club. Often United have struggled against deep and low lying defences. Without the creativity in the middle of the park United have relied on the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial to run in behind.

That reliance however will no longer be necessary.

Manchester United have confirmed via their official website that they have reached an agreement for Portugal international and Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Only the terms of the contract need to be agreed with the player, however if that is completed the Red Devils could be on the brink of finally resolving their lack of creativity issues in the midfield.

Bruno Fernandes has been one of the most creative and offensively potent midfielders playing in Europe’s top leagues for the last two seasons. This season the midfielder has scored 15 goals and given out 14 assists already. Meanwhile last season Bruno Fernandes hit an incredible 32 goals and 18 assists in all competitions.

The Portuguese midfielder has a clear eye for scoring and creating opportunities for his teammates. While it may take him time to settle. If he can replicate similar numbers he could be the man to lead United into the top 4 this season.
