Manchester United could be on the brink of signing a very exciting proven international goalscorer to solve their injury crisis in January.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a problem. He has a major issue. It is the size of a wide gaping abyss. Manchester United are without a proven and prolific goalscorer. The statement may seem ridiculous on the back of an impressive 6-0 United victory at the weekend, however nonetheless it is true.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is well aware of this issue. It had only been exacerbated by the recent injury of Marcus Rashford who could well be out until the end of the season.

Yes perhaps it wasn’t felt in the victory over Tranmere Rovers, but it was mostly certainly felt in the defeat to Liverpool when the Red Devils could not finish off the chances they created. A great illustration of that if the glaring Anthony Martial miss when he could not get on the end of a cross which would have given him an easy tap in.

Against tougher opponents that issue will certainly continue for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. However with only four days left in the January transfer window it means the Norwegian does not have a lot of time left to solve the crisis.

It means he has been forced to frantically look for options which has led to some surprising and albeit shocking names being linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However it seems one man might excite the Red Devils faithful.

According to Fotospor via Sports Mole the Red Devils are interested in signing Kosovan forward Vedat Muriqi from Fenerbache.

The Kosovan striker has been hugely prolific this season having netted 12 league goals in just 18 games for the Turkish club. His powerful presence and ability to find the back of the net makes him a formidable prospect.

Still just 25 years old Vedat Muriqi has plenty of time to develop.

His height and his combative style of play would give United a different option upfront.
