Manchester United face Tranmere in the FA Cup on Sunday, hoping to overturn their fortunes after the shocking defeat to Burnley midweek.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer really needs something to lift the Red Devils faithful. The Manchester United fans are extremely disillusioned with the club and you could hardly blame them. The defeat to Burnley after a series of losses against Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool was the final straw.

The fans’ patience is running out. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team are playing spiritless football. There seems to be no cohesiveness in the team. The Red Devils formation and playing style is haphazard.

Something needs to change quickly.

When the club faces Tranmere Rovers on Sunday, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side will have the perfect opportunity to redeem themselves. Yes, Tranmere may have beaten Premier League opposition to secure the game against Manchester United. Yes, the Rovers players will be eager to put a dent in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s ambition to win a trophy. Yes, the atmosphere at Prenton Park will be cagey with the home fans doing everything they can to throw the United players off. However regardless of all those factors Manchester United should be good enough to beat their League Two opposition.

Here is how the Red Devils are expected to line-up:

Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero

Right Back: Diogo Dalot

Centre Back: Eric Bailly

Centre Back: Victor Lindelof

Left Back: Brandon Williams

Holding Midfielder: Nemanja Matic

Central Midfielder: Andreas Pereira

Central Midfielder: Angel Gomes

Right Winger: Tahith Chong

Forward: Anthony Martial

Left Winger: Mason Greenwood

This is undoubtedly the best mix of youth and senior experience Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently has at his disposal and it should be enough to get the job done against the opposition the Red Devils will face.

Some youth talent is also expected to be on the bench with the likes of Hannibal Mejri and Teden Mengi all potentially involved in the match day squad.

Next. Why the walkout against the Glazers will not work. dark
