It seems Manchester United are not only eyeing up Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint Germain but also another one of the French outfit’s stars.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has possibly been handed one of the toughest jobs for any manager in the world right now. It speaks volumes that both Jose Mourinho and Luis Van Gaal failed as Manchester United managers. The task to get the Red Devils back to where they belong seems monumental. It is the equivalent of climbing Mount Everest for a climber. It’s the ultimate challenge, but very few could succeed.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperately fighting to prove he is the man to be able to bring that long coveted success back to Old Trafford.
Yet when he grimaced on Wednesday night and took a long deep sigh, he must’ve thought he was on the brink of failure. United have had a torrent of embarrassing defeats since the herald of the new decade. Some against the club’s biggest rivals in Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool. The Burnley defeat was just the latest in a long line of hapless results.
One thing is clear. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to revamp his Manchester United squad. There is a major need for reinforcements at Old Trafford.
Yet so far in the January transfer window the club have only seen the departure of Ashley Young which has weakened the squad.
According to Football365 Manchester United are interested in signing PSG right back Thomas Meunier. The site claims that the Red Devils see the Belgian star as a potential ‘replacement’ for Ashley Young.
The news could fill Manchester United with some hope since the right back area is a position which has been an issue at Old Trafford this season. The addition of Aaron Wan-Bissaka has not brought the stability which the club had initially intended and perhaps Thomas Meunier could ease the pressure off the young man.
What do you think should Manchester United sign Thomas Meunier?
