Manchester United: Solskjaer dealt with huge new injury blow

The Manchester United boss has been dealt with a huge injury blow and he will have to come up with solutions for the Red Devils not to suffer as a result.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had a hapless season as Manchester United boss thus far. The Norwegian boss has failed to get a consistent set of results and whilst the Red Devils remain on the periphery of the desperately coveted top four in the Premier League, the current boss is still facing the pressure.

If the United boss is to finally attain the top four spot the club would undoubtedly be dully pleased with the results he has reaped. However with Solskjaer unable to bring in the necessary new signings in the January transfer window that opportunity is slowly seem to be slipping away from his reach.

His problems are compounded by the extreme and severely mounting injury crisis which is festering at Old Trafford at the moment.

It has led to some of the club’s best players ruled out for extensive periods such as the likes of Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay.

The latest to have been wracked with an injury is the current United top goalscorer and undoubtedly the club’s most important player this season, Marcus Rashford.

The young forward picked up an injury after coming on as a substitute against Wolverhampton which ruled him out for the crunch game against Liverpool and it seems the news just gets worse and worse.

According to the Guardian via Playing for 90, Manchester United will have to cope without their star player for up to ‘two or three’ months. That might mean Marcus Rashford will not play another game for the Red Devils this season. Especially with the European Championships coming up in the summer as the striker will be eager to ensure he stays fit and gets in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Of course the news of Rashford’s injury will come as a terrible blow as United are already short of attacking options. It will mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have to rely on the young Mason Greenwood to come in and replace Rashford.

What do you think, will Manchester United be able to cope without Marcus Rashford?
