It seems the former Manchester United captain isn’t the only player to leave Old Trafford for Inter Milan. Another is set follow suit.
Ashley Young has been at Manchester United for almost a decade. He has gone from being tipped to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s heir on the flanks for the Red Devils to a veteran and ageing full-back. The transition took Ashley Young through the club’s last Premier League title win under Sir Alex Ferguson to some turbulent times under the leadership of David Moyes, Luis Van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.
Yet despite the chopping and changing of managers Ashley Young always kept his place in the side. He has been a true professional at Old Trafford and while he will not be regarded in the same esteem as many others who spent such an extensive length of time at the club, he will still be remembered fondly by the Red Devils supporters.
With Ashley Young’s move to Inter Milan confirmed by the club’s official page, it is time for the United captain to move onto pastures new and an exciting adventure. Young will become the latest addition to the recent influx of British players moving abroad.
And it seems another Manchester United player has been inspired by Young’s departure from Old Trafford and could follow him to Inter Milan.
Reports from Italy are suggesting that Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong could also move to Inter Milan.
According to Tuttosport via the Daily Mail, Inter Milan are among a number of Italian clubs looking at signing Tahith Chong on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the current season.
Tahith Chong is one of the highest rated youngsters in the United academy at the moment and has made seven appearances for the club’s first team this season. However he is no doubt looking for more regular game time and he will certainly have more chance of gaining that in Italy.
Tahith Chong was actually rumoured to have been offered to Sporting as part of the Bruno Fernandes deal. It seems the Dutch youngster will certainly be leaving Old Trafford.
What do you think, should United fight to keep Tahith Chong?
