With the big game against Liverpool at the weekend Manchester United are set to rest some of their stars in their FA Cup replay against Wolves.
Manchester United have historically been one of the FA Cup’s most successful sides. They have won the competition 12 times, just one shy of the record holders Arsenal.
Yet as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side prepares to face Wolverhampton Wanderers in their FA Cup replay, the spirit of the competition seems to have dwindled within the hearts of the United faithful.
The Red Devils have been currently wracked by one of the biggest injury crisis in the club’s history with the number of first team players out injured amounting to almost a dozen.
And with United set to travel to arch rivals Liverpool at the weekend the game could not have come at a worst time for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Red Devils will be desperate to be the first team to beat Liverpool this season and after a draw at Old Trafford earlier on in the campaign they will have some hope to do so.
Therefore the clash with Wolves is not on the club’s priority at the moment, yet the FA Cup is a chance for more silverware which will mean Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will still do his utmost to take it seriously.
Here is how the Red Devils are expected to line-up.
Goalkeeper: Sergio Romero
Right Back: Aaron Wan-Bissaka
Centre Back: Eric Bailly
Centre Back: Victor Lindelof
Left Back: Brandon Williams
Holding Midfielder: Nemanja Matic
Central Midfielder: Angel Gomes
Central Midfielder: Andreas Pereira
Winger: Tahith Chong
Forward: Mason Greenwood
Winger: Daniel James
This line-up is expected to be very youthful one. However there is some experience packed in it too. United fans will be delighted with the return of Eric Bailly who has come back from a long term injury and has already played two reserve games and is expected to be in the match-day squad.
Nemanja Matic will provide some steel in midfield meanwhile Angel Gomes will come in for Jesse Lingard who has been ruled out for the tie.
Up front, Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood will form a very young partnership with Daniel James.
What do you think will Manchester United beat Wolves?
