Manchester United: Solskjaer wants Barcelona star to fix problems
By Bence Bocsak
The Manchester United boss has identified one of Barcelona’s players to purchase in the transfer window to solve the Red Devils’ issues.
At Old Trafford in midweek as the Manchester City midfield ran riot against the United’s very own, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer stood with his arms crossed and sighed. The issues were obvious. They were blatant even to a casual observer of the game. Manchester United’s midfield is in disarray. They lack cohesiveness, unity and any sort of tactical mettle.
There is a lack of energy in the Manchester United midfield. Without the club’s two key men in Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay the midfield is without direction. It is like an automobile without a driver.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who played alongside some of the club’s best midfielders during his time as a player at Old Trafford, including the likes of Paul Scholes and Roy Keane, will understand more than anyone that things need to change. The Manchester United midfield needs a new injection, a new spark to set it alight and flowing again.
Otherwise the club will linger in mediocrity for even longer then precedented and remain in the shadows of their arch rivals, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have a plan up his sleeve though. The Norwegian boss is purportedly targeting one of Barcelona’s current midfielders. According to Chilean outlet Direct TV via Team Talk, Manchester United are interested in signing Arturo Vidal.
The Chilean midfielder has long been linked with a move away from Barcelona and it seems he could be edging closer and closer to a departure from the Camp Nou.
Arturo Vidal’s perpetual energy and dynamism could be the spark Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to reignite the Red Devils’ midfield.
Vidal has played in three of the top five leagues in Europe from the Serie A, La Liga to the Bundesliga. He impressed in all of them and highlighted his quality for some of Europe’s elite teams.
Arturo Vidal is known for his talent and experience and the Red Devils should not hesitate in making a move for the Chilean. Only the Premier League remains for him to conquer and there is no doubt he still has enough in him to do it.
What do you think would Arturo Vidal be a good signing for Manchester United?
