Manchester United could be set for another Pogba-esque departure

The Manchester United board could lose out on yet another star player in the same manner they did lost out on Paul Pogba.
The saga between Manchester United and Paul Pogba is like an unhealthy relationship. At first there were sparks, but then there was a nasty separation. Both parties found themselves without being together. Then Pogba was set for another break-up and instead of finding something new, he returned to his first love.
Yet while most people fantasise their first love, often when we are confronted with them we realise they were nothing like we remembered. The idyllic fantasy was all in our heads. That seems to be the case for Paul Pogba and Manchester United too since the Frenchman returned to Old Trafford.
Paul Pogba’s best years were at Juventus where the World Cup winner made fans marvel week after week with spectacular performances. At Manchester United that has hardly been the case. For whatever reason Paul Pogba just cannot quite find his feet in a Red Devils shirt.
Pogba made the right choice when he moved away from Old Trafford for Juventus in search of more first team games. It shaped him into a world class footballer and helped him fulfil the hype which had been heaped upon him in the club’s academy.
Now it seems another young United academy player could follow in Pogba’s footsteps by moving to Turin. According to the Daily Mail via the Bleacher Report Juventus are looking at signing Tahith Chong on a free transfer when the 20 year old’s contract expires in the summer.
Tahith Chong arrived at Old Trafford as a 17 year old prospect from Feyenoord. Over the last couple of seasons he has established himself as one of the best academy players at the club. This season he has made 7 first team appearances which is more than Paul Pogba made during his first stint at the club. However Tahith Chong needs more opportunities and at Juventus just like Pogba he might get his lucky break.
Manchester United can only hope they will not rue letting Tahith Chong depart on a free like they did with Pogba.
What do you think will Manchester United regret not keeping Tahith Chong?
