One of the world’s best managers is gleaming at the prospect of taking the Manchester United’s manager’s job if Solskjaer is sacked.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a Manchester United legend. He understands the ethos of the club through and through. He has been a valiant servant to the club. Someone who would put his heart and soul on the line for the Red Devils’ crest.
When he returned to take over the United job after a dire spell under Jose Mourinho there was a sense of optimism around the club. After his first couple of results people started to believe again.
Yet a year on, that optimism seems to have dissipated over the last couple of months. Despite victories against some of the bigger games such as the Manchester derby and over Tottenham and Chelsea as well as the only team in the Premier League to hold Liverpool to a draw, Solskjaer’s grip seems to be loosening on the Manchester United faithful.
The Red Devils currently languish in fifth place, five points away from the coveted Champions League spot. Yet the frustrating part is that if it wasn’t for United’s inability to beat lesser sides, the club’s position could be so much higher.
Patience seems to be running out for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the time for change may be upon the club soon.
There are no shortages of suitors willing to take on the job at Old Trafford. And it seems yet another name has been thrown into the mix. A name who will excite most Manchester United fans.
That name is Massimiliano Allegri. According to the Daily Mail Allegri ‘has his eye’ on the Manchester United job after taking an extended sabbatical following his departure from Juventus.
Massimiliano Allegri had an extremely successful spell at Juventus and was considered to be among the top managers in world football before he left the Turin based side.
The Italian manager has won six Serie A titles and is renowned for his tactical prowess. If the United board decides to part ways with Solskjaer, there is absolutely no doubt Massimiliano Allegri would be the ideal candidate for the job.
