Manchester United to make sensational double signing
By Bence Bocsak
Manchester United could be on the brink of making a sensational double signing from one of their Premier League rivals in the transfer window.
When you assess the Manchester United squad, two things stand out at the moment. The lack of firepower up front and the absence of rigidity in midfield. These two weaknesses have often been the downfall of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side over the last couple of months and it is clear they need to be addressed sooner rather than later if the Norwegian boss is serious about returning the Red Devils to where they belong.
It seems Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could hit two birds with one stone in his attempt to fix things in the January transfer window. The Norwegian has set his sights on not one but two players from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers according to Goal via the Daily Mail. The player to add firepower at Old Trafford could be the Mexican striker Raul Jimenez meanwhile the player to add stability is Ruben Neves according to Goal.
Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves have both been Wolverhampton’s leading players this season. Jimenez is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the Premier League at the moment with great physicality, pace and an excellent eye for goal.
Meanwhile Ruben Neves is without a shadow of a doubt one of the best holding midfielders in the Premier League. He is solid in the tackle and has great distribution which enables him to dictate the play from midfield. His shooting range is remarkable too and he has often popped up with vital goals for Wolves from great distances.
The pair have contributed to some excellent victories over the likes of Manchester City twice and have often been the thorn to big teams’ sides this season including Manchester United earlier this season.
The two could be excellent additions for United and they could undoubtedly fix the issues Solskjaer is facing at the moment.
Having already proven themselves in the Premier League they would have no problems fitting in at Old Trafford.
The only question remains how much Wolves will demand for the services of their two key players.
What do you think should Manchester United sign both Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez?
