It seems Manchester United will win the race for one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League this season from the newly promoted sides.

For the past couple of months there has been a continuous rising debate in English football. Who is the better player Jack Grealish or James Maddison? Fans have mulled over the question for hours sitting around pubs and bars and drinking pint after pint. The question has been most pertinent for Manchester United fans. The Red Devils have been linked with both players and they are desperate for midfield reinforcements with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s squad looking depleted and week.

So the ultimate question of which player is better has not just been a simple matter of fact or casual conversation. For Manchester United fans the question could determine the future of the club.

Yet hiding in the shadows, an elusive and enigmatic figure has been just as good as both Maddison and Grealish but has not merited the same hype and the same fervour of excitement. That man is Norwich City’s creative midfielder Todd Cantwell.

Todd Cantwell has been just as impressive as both Grealish and Maddison performing in a far poorer side. Yet his statistics in the Premier League are still highly respectable with Cantwell netting 6 times from midfield, the same as both Maddison and Grealish. Some of his goals have come against top opposition too such as Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Not only that Cantwell is younger by at least two years at 21 years of age than either Grealish or Maddison and is far cheaper with a valuation of only £30m.

And it seems according to the Daily Mail Manchester United will join the race for Todd Cantwell’s services in the January transfer window.

While Todd Cantwell might not be the glamour name, United fans desire. At a cheaper rate and with more time and potential to develop but also whilst still being at a similar level, he could be the best option out of the above mentioned trio.
