The Manchester United boss has not dwelled on missing out on his primary target and it seems he already has an alternative lined-up.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been on an arduous quest at Manchester United in his attempt to get the Red Devils back to where they belong. Since taking over nearly a year ago the Norwegian boss has experienced some major highs and lows with the club. He has guided United to some impressive victories over their arch rivals and has made some astute signings. At the same time Solskjaer has also suffered some embarrassing losses and he has also made some blunders in the transfer market.

In Erling Braut Haaland, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seemed to have the perfect candidate to bring to Manchester United. Having given the young striker his debut in senior football a couple of years ago at Molde there was that personal connection between the pair which was believed to be the key factor in luring Erling Haaland to Old Trafford.

At to that the fact that Erling Haaland oozes quality and he could have been the perfect man to lead the line with already a very prolific record behind him.

Unfortunately however, Manchester United could not quite get the deal over the line and Erling Haaland signed for German giants Borussia Dortmund instead leaving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Manchester United fans scratching their head.

It seems however they will not have to scratch their heads for long however. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a smart man and he is a shrewd thinker.

The Manchester United boss already has an ideal replacement lined up for Erling Haaland and he could target him in the January transfer window.

According to the Evening Standard via Manchester Evening News United have lined up Brazilian star Richarlison of Everton as a ‘possible alternative.’

The Brazilian international has been one of the brightest prospects in the Premier League. At just 22 years of age he already has over a dozen Brazilian caps and six goals.

He is fast, a smart thinker and an excellent dribbler and he could be the perfect fit for Manchester United. Richarlison, Rashford and Martial could form an incredible trio at Old Trafford who could even rival the trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino in the future.
